Problem with gnome-panel (FC4)

Hi,

I've just updated some application of my FC4 installation and I got a 
strange problem:

at the start of the gnome session the gnome-panel has an error: it seems 
as the gnome-panel is loaded many times (the fedora splashscreen shows 
many icons for the "Panel").

After some seconds the load of gnome-panel ends but my two bars are not 
visible.

In the .xsession-errors file I found many errors like this:

gnome-panel: symbol lookup error: gnome-panel: undefined symbol: 
gtk_menu_bar_set_pack_direction

I've tried to delete all the gnome config directories from my home 
directory but the problem remains.

What could be the problem?
