kernel panic

i'm running an ibm thinkpad t40. a number of the fc5 kernels including 
2.6.12-1.1483_FC5 panic on boot with the following error:

Kernel panic - not syncing: net/sched/sch_generic.c:542: spin_is_locked 
on uninitialized spinlock df250158. (Not tainted)

should i initialose something?
