audit errors and startup problem

Hi,
after on oft the latest updates (the update with the new gdm-greeter), I
can no longer login into my GNOME (or any other) session via GDM. GDM
displays a label saying something like 'booting ...', even though the
boot process is completed.

/var/log/messages says:

However, I can run my GNOME session with startx.

I don't know whether this relates to the problem or not, but I get tons
