FC 4 + GDM early login

Well, I set it up, and it seemed to do it.  Except that it only showed a
blank screen, then went to a login shell for a couple seconds, then it
went to the gdm login screen.  Except, I have auto login setup to log me
in on boot instead of manually and I had to login instead of straight to
the desktop.
