It was replaced by mail-notification because the panel applet was
insecure and not maintained. If you want it use, 
# yum install mail-notification 
Then it will have a control application somewhere in preferences. 
Its quite different from the old applet but I find that once you learn
how it works it is a lot more useful. You can use more than one
mailbox! :-D
