hald 'dying' seems to be happening quite regurlarly. Here is a run of
consecutive
'ps algx | grep hal' seperated by about 4 minutes:

[root at tlondon ~]# ps agx | grep hal
 2569 ? Ss 0:03 hald --retain-privileges
 2576 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-acpi
 2628 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-storage
 3683 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep hal
[root at tlondon ~]#
[root at tlondon ~]#
[root at tlondon ~]#
[root at tlondon ~]# ps agx | grep hal
 2576 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-acpi
 2628 ? S 0:00 hald-addon-storage
 3731 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep hal
[root at tlondon ~]#

I see nothing in /var/log/messages, nor anything in /var/log/audit/audit.log....

I changed the script in /etc/init.d to turn verbose mode on. Anything
else to try?
