You can always edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and change "vesa" to
"radeon".  But chances are that this would not work anyway although
I cannot tell for sure. You have different hardware. Please see

Maybe these Python backraces are just a side-effect?  You can surely
file a bugzilla report.
