The rootcause is the new config-method.

Okay. Running X -configure produces a much better looking config-file.

The mode-lines, video-drivers, etc are in there. The display isn`t
detected, so X starts up in VGA. /var/log/X.org.log states "VBE DDC read
failed".

The usb-mouse isn`t detected.
