boot.iso not correct?

My test of thursday's rawhide install (20060810) failed due to an
apparent kernel panic. A yum update (via kyum) was quite successful
and the kernel installed that way boots and runs without error.

Is it possible that something in stage2 is not being updated properly?
I checked the dates on the mirror, and boot.iso and such are properly
built (apparently) to the "right" time.

mystified.
