Is the dvd burner capable of burning CDs too? If yes then there should
be symlink /dev/cdwriter?->/dev/hdd and the permissions should be set
fine. If not then this is the reason.

I'll add the /dev/dvd* to console.perms.d anyway in the next pam package
release.
