yum-updatesd actually work for anyone?

well, my memory is hazy and I'm definitely not an rpm expert, but I do 
distinctly remember a time years ago when rpm did indeed support 
concurrent access... yes even with multiple two packages at the same 
time.  this may or may not be true nowadays... i don't know.
