That kernel "thinks" about itself, and its modules,
as 2.6.22-0.14.rc0.git1.fc8 and on a startup it tries to
load assorted modules from a directory which does not exist.
Does not work too well and various things do not start
or not in a proper way.

If you want to hack around then in /lib/modules link
2.6.23-0.14.rc0.git1.fc8 to 2.6.22-0.14.rc0.git1.fc8
That should help.
