Same here, cept I finally did 'kill -9 <pid>' (pid determined
from trying 'yum clean all')

Then 'package-cleanup --dupes' showed dozens of dupes
since 'cleanup' was never run after 48 updates.
'package-cleanup --clean old dupes' promptly fixed it.

kernel-2.6.24-0.43.rc3.git1.fc9 hung on boot, so I yum removed
it (an devel). I keep 4, now I have 3. 42, 41, 39 boot fine.
