X server still crazy

You should be getting

I find that Xorg.0.log is very short and last lines are:
Module pcidata etc, etc
using VT number 7

looking in Xorg.0.log.old I find also thi line:

Fatal server error:
xf850OpenConsole: VT-WAITACTIVE failed:interrupted system call
