ath_pci instead of ath5k returns ath_pci module not found

Dear all,
I have removed ath5k from /etc/modules.conf in loading
at boot, but ath_pci is also bombing out, how should I
enable wireless on this machine?
lspci returns
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications,

which madwifi.9.3.X worked for fedora 7 test releases,
now wireless does not work.
