Actually, I futzed around with the system a bit last night, and it looks
like Xen is definitely causing me some problems.  By booting a non-Xen
kernel, I get my suspend/resume back (shoulda read the docs on that one),
and I now at least have a wlan0 that I can use.  I've as-of-yet been unable
to attach to a wireless network, but the one I was testing against has a
history of problems.

Looks like it's VMWare for me.
