IIRC, this happened with system-config-date, but it might be that I was
fast enough to not notice one of those dialogues before I filled the
password and hit OK there... Now when I open the system-config* lot, it
asks for root password, so so far this one seems to be false positive
(or fixed with some of the applied updates since then) :/

In livna, in upstream or in fedora? But it seems it behaves a bit
different now than when I wrote this summary. I clearly remember it
complaining about missing swf (or perhaps flv?) decoder or something
like that, but now it pops out quite a different error:

Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file.

But further exploring showed that this occur only with some videos. One
of the videos that not work can be found thus:
1. open the youbtube plug-in in totem
2. search for horowitz traumerei
3. try to play
http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=qq7ncjhSqtk&t=OEgsToPDskJ5uOXeccIsHUfeuQMS4kTN
(titled Horowitz plays Schumann Traumerei in Moscow, it's the first hit
for me)

I also noticed that it opens successfully in totem browser plug-in when
I try to open the above link in epiphany (yeah, it finally uses
firefox's plugins, thanks to bnocera).

happens with
totem-2.23.0-6.fc9.i386

Anyway, filled https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=440135 with
the hope that it's the correct place and component...

Depends on whether its a bug or feature. It was rather a question what
is this thing about and why it occupies so much disk space...
