Here is my response to the latter:

guide isn't very useful because it is excessively hard to read as it's 
formatted to overflow a fixed-width column.

"Please, if you can, take the time to correct the formatting and test it 
on a variety of browsers including Seamonkey, Firefox, IE6 and IE7, 
Lynx, elinks and Links v2" in a variety of different-sized fonts.
