does a fully updated beta correspond to an updated preview?

  i'm well aware of the danger.  and i've found that if i play with
beta releases and previews on an optional system, then there's the
overwhelming temptation that, when things go south, you just walk away
from it and wait for someone else to deal with it.

  OTOH, if you kind of depend on that system, then you have skin in
the game and are more prepared to invest time in debugging and
testing.

  that's not something i'd recommend to most folks.  but as long as i
guarantee that i can always recover in short order, it helps keep me
focused.  whatever works.
