well, it's more that the nouveau driver in general now implements
suspend/resume support, whereas it didn't before. suspend/resume being
how it is, there'll still be some systems where it doesn't work because
of specific bugs, whether these are in the nouveau driver or not. :/

try reinstalling (as you thought), doing rawhide updates, then try the
suspend again. if it still doesn't work, it's bug filin' time :)
