I have compiled it on F-9 and it works nicely so far. The XDG bug is there as
already reported. Additionally I noted the following:
 * I'm using the standard upper panel (size 25 pixels). As applet a button seems
to be used. This cuts of text and icon on top and bottom. Preferably it should
be menu style like the default apps menu I think.
 * Besides the minimum version of NetworkManager at all the BR
NetworkManager-glib-devel is missing completely. Will not build without.

No crashes after some using, only the mentioned minor issues. Network connection
was correctly displayed.
