For the record, the winning combination:
ipa host-add ian-ultra24-dmz.in.hwlab --password=foobar
ipa-client-install --hostname=ian-ultra24-dmz.in.hwlab --domain=in.hwlab --password=foobar --realm=SBGRID.ORG --server=sbgrid-directory.in.hwlab --unattended
Is this documented anywhere else other than on Fedora's site? The docs I linked to are just plain wrong...
