Greetings Red Hat Partners,
We are pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat Hardware
Certification Test Suite Beta 5 (hwcert-client-1.7.0-20140212.1) for
testing purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 pre-releases.
The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite Beta 5 package
(hwcert-client-1.7.0-20140212.1) is *not* an official release and should
*not* be used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux certification submissions.
The current Red Hat Hardware Test Suites (hwcert-client-1.5.10-2 for
RHEL 5.x and hwcert-client-1.6.5-25.1 for RHEL 6.x) should continue to
be used for official certifications.
The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite Beta 5 is available at the
following location:
ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL7/hwcert-client/1.7.0/beta-5/
The required hwcert-client-info package is available at the following
location:
ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL7/hwcert-client-info/1.7.0/beta-5
Highlights of the hwcert-client-1.7.0-20140212.1 test suite beta 5 include:
* Test servers are now standardized on RHEL 6. A hwcert-server.el7
package is available for completeness but is not tested for use at this
time.
* The fv_* test default time-out is temporarily extended to 90 minutes
to enable more complete debugging with the new fv images. This extended
time-out allows testing to complete that would otherwise see the guest
forced to power down (Bug #1043526).
* The fv_* tests will look in the wrong directory for guest images on
the Red Hat partner ftp server. This has been worked around with
symlinks on the ftp server and will be addressed in the next test suite
release.
* The cpuscaling test continues to be refined for RHEL7 using the
cpupower utility and the Intel pstate driver. Fixes for all known
cpuscaling bugs have been included in this beta, but we would like to
encourage additional testing on as many different platforms as possible.
If problems are encountered please file bugs so we can get them addressed.
* The cpuscaling test is now no longer scheduled on s390x systems.
* The hwcert-client-info package now provides a general match for the
anticipated RHEL7 kernel. This general match will result in a warning
instead of a failure allowing the info test to report a pass.
* On some arches the kdump service saves the core files with directory
names based on UTC and not the not local time (Bugzilla #1062636). This
may cause the kdump test to fail as the test is unable to locate the
core file.
* The optical media test will now report a failure when the media
selection choice is aborted.
The hwcert-client-1.7.0-20140124.2 package has been tested against RHEL
7.0 Snapshot 6 on the x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you
encounter any problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware
Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
