Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat Hardware
Certification Test Suite Beta (hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140316) for
testing purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification test suite Beta package
(hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140316) is *not* an official release and should
*not* be used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux certification submissions.
The current Red Hat hardware test suite (hwcert-client-1.6.5-25.1 for
RHEL 6.x) should continue to be used for official certifications.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification test suite Beta is available at the
following location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/hwcert-client/1.6.5.2/

The required hwcert-client-info package is available at the following
location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/hwcert-client-info/1.6.5.2/

Highlights of the hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140316 test suite beta include:

* The hwcert-server can now send results via email. Please note, a mail
handler is not configured by default by the test suite server.

* The cpuscaling test may fail with recent BIOS conventions change used
with newer Intel CPUs (bug #1070360). This change in convention effects
the available frequencies list and causes the test to select the
incorrect required speeds.

* The biosdevname check in the network tests has been updated to gather
info for each the RHEL 6 device naming schemes.

* The expresscard test can now test an expresscard slot when using a
USB+PCIE combo expresscard.

* The hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140316 beta package has been tested
against RHEL 6.5 on the x86, x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If
you encounter any problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat
Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
