Greetings Red Hat Partners,

With the public release of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 RC and the
Hardware Certification Test Suite GA, official hardware certification
testing of RHEL 7 may now begin for all Hardware Certification Program
members. The Hardware Certification Policy Guide and User Guide have
been updated with new RHEL 7 information and are now available on the
Customer Portal. They can be viewed at the following link:

https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_Hardware_Certification/

The process of creating a RHEL 7 certification request remains largely
the same as the current RHEL 6 and 5 certification process, but there
are a few differences:

1. A Hardware Specification entry is now required for all RHEL 7
certification requests. This entry improves the certification process by
condensing the specification information into a single entry for each
model instead of duplicating the data in every certification request for
that model. Hardware Specification entries remain optional for RHEL 5
and 6. To open a RHEL 7 certification request and the required Hardware
Specification entry, choose the option below that matches your system
and follow the directions there:

Option 1. New systems not previously submitted for certification:
Leave the Entry Type field set to its default of “Both” when creating
your new RHEL 7 certification entries and a Hardware Specification entry
will be created for you automatically.

Option 2. Systems already submitted for certification *with* a Hardware
Specification entry:
Return to the existing Hardware Specification entry to create your RHEL
7 certification request. To find the Hardware Specification entry,
search for the model in the Hardware Catalog and then click the Hardware
Specification link that appears below its name, or load any
certification request for the model, click the Advanced link, and then
click the link for the Hardware Specification entry. Once the Hardware
Specification entry is loaded, click the Certifications link and open
your new certification request there.

Option 3. Systems already submitted for certification *without* a
Hardware Specification entry:
Follow the directions for new systems not previously submitted for
certification (option 1).

2. Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack 5 Compute (RHEL OSP 5 Compute)
certifications are now open to all partners, and a RHEL OSP 5 Compute
certification entry is being opened automatically for each new RHEL 7,
x86_64 server certification request. This is similar to how RHEL OSP 3
and 4 Compute entries are opened for RHEL 6 certifications today. The
RHEL OSP 5 Compute certification entry can be viewed by either loading
the Hardware Specification entry for the model and clicking on the
Certification link at the top of the page, or by loading the parent RHEL
7 certification, clicking on the Advanced link at the top of the
certification, and then viewing the listings in the Parent Of section.

The RHEL OSP 5 Compute entry will not be processed until after the
parent RHEL 7 certification is complete and the RHEL OSP 5 product is
available.

3. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor 7 (RHEV-H 7)
certification entries are being introduced in RHEL 7. Just like RHEL OSP
Compute, RHEV-H 7 certifications are open to all partners and are opened
automatically for each new RHEL 7, x86_64 server certification. The
RHEV-H 7 certification entry can be viewed by loading either the
Hardware Specification entry for the model and clicking on the
Certification link at the top of the page, or by loading the parent RHEL
7 certification, clicking on the Advanced link at the top of the
certification, and then viewing the listings in the Parent Of section.

The RHEV-H 7 entry will not be processed until after the parent RHEL 7
certification is complete and the RHEV-H product based on RHEL 7 is
available.

We value your ongoing participation in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux
development, testing, and certification efforts. Thank you for your
continued partnership. If you have any questions or comments, please do
not hesitate to contact your Partner Manager or Technical Account Manager.

Regards,

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Team
