X Server lockup with VIA CLE266 chipset

I have a number of VIA thin clients with the CLE266 Video which comes up
with the openchrome driver.
We run the Citrix ICA client as a local application on top of LTSP and
the Xserver locks up when an menu is selected in the Citrix session.

I managed to get the tail end of the Xorg.1.log which looks like this
[mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.

This looks very similar to this bug
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472935.

It would seem that I need to try setting the xorg.conf:
Option "NoAccel" "on"
or
Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"

How do I do this with LTSP these days?
