KDE is a bit more feature rich, and, therefore, I suppose, a bit more 
bloated.  I sometimes switch to IceWM when I get frustrated with KDE, 
and enjoy the speed of IceWM, but I always come back, because I'm 
spoiled and want KDE features. (No, I wouldn't let my students get away 
with a run-on like that. Usually.)
