I'll just let you know where I am at just in case it brings forth any
further insight. I have the iMac booting locally to YDL in run level 3
but still receiving an IP from the LTSP 3.1.2 server and on the internal
network currently with the IP of 192.168.0.250. I issue the command
"#esd -nobeeps -tcp -public" on the iMac and hit enter, I get a line
saying that it is accepting connections. Then on the server I issue
"#esdplay -s 192.168.0.250 test.wav" and nothing happens on the iMac but
the test.wav plays on the server. If I reverse the whole process with
"#esd -nobeeps -tcp -public" on the server and "#esdplay -s
192.168.0.250 test.wav" from the iMac sound also plays on the server.
So it appears I can send sound over the network only toward the server.

Any idea why the server will not let me send sound out to the iMac? I
can ping 192.168.0.250 from the server without a problem and "#esdplay
-s 192.168.0.250 test.wav" does not give me any errors, it just gives me
what appears as the same result as "#esdplay test.wav" would.

Also I found out that with the inittab mods for esd and X -query if I
leave the server speakers on, all sound events from the client are
played on the server.

Ideas?
