Actually, FC2 gives you TWO choices for pop3 and imap services.  In addition to cyrus-imap,
there's also dovecot.  Dovecot works almost out-of-the-box with two exceptions:

1) you need to edit /etc/dovecot.conf to enable the desired client email protocols
2) if you're using imap, you may need to use all imap folders "in" one level - from
$HOME/mail to $HOME/mail/mail - then resubscribe to those folders

The disadvantage to dovecot is that it uses standard mbox format, which is not quite
as robust as cyrus-imap's database. The advantage to dovecot is that it uses the mbox
format, so you can easily use mutt to look at your email without reconfiguring (assuming
one _can_ reconfigure mutt to do so).
