[K12OSN] Linux Auth'ing to Novell Edirectory--Question

Hi Caleb,

Guy's directions are great! Check the user creation section of 8.3 in
the wiki. The important part that you need is a line that looks like
this in your pam.d files:

auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_ncp_auth.so nullok
use_first_pass ndsserver=Server_Name:ou=Your_OU -d -L -mMount_Point
-u2000,4000,pn,gcds -g2000,4000,pn
(Notes: (1) that is all on one line, (2) the -m flag is the name of the
mount point in the user's home directory, and there is no space between
'-m' and the name.)

This allows authentication to eDirectory and automatically creates the
authenticated user/group on the Linux box. The only downside (in my
environment) is that the Netware home directory is a subdirectory of the
Linux home directory. If I could get Linux to use the Netware home
directory as its home directory, I would be an extremely happy camper!

Mike
