[K12OSN] NAS Backup

Hi Kevin,

I'm a bit rusty on this, but from memory Novell E-Directory supports
NFS.

If you aren't worried about the NDS tree then any of the previous
methods would back up the data.

NDS is a breeze to set up in comparison to LDAP, mainly because Novell
has done the hard work for the user.

An Rsync based solution would probably be the most efficient. Amanda
looks like a very capable performer, even better than some commercial
products.

I suggest you identify exactly what you want to do (even diagramming
data flow paths) and then look at what is available. Will you be backing
up across WAN links? Average amount of data to backup daily? Choose the
product that will suit your needs.

Pretty vague I know, but when you figure out the WHAT, HOW of the back
up, then you will know WHICH product is most suitable.

Cheers,
Bert
