Well....I've been running WBEL and K12LTSP (the 3.x packages) for a couple of
weeks now and this has been the most efficient server I've ever had. My users
primarily use mozilla, openoffice, tuxmath, tuxtype, and tuxpaint. My window
manager of choice is icewm-lite because its so resource friendly (and has a
nifty xp theme) Things seem "zippier" than my previous k12ltsp setup (3.1.2)
and I think this is primarily due to the newer kernel. Right now there's not a
huge load...only 13 or so terminals on at the moment....but check out my
average usage:

We're adding to this server....so far we have about 70 terminals running from
it (not concurrently) and we should be up to at least 100 this summer. The
above is my average usage. My peak concurrent usage has been about 30
terminals...at that time the memory usage spikes no higher than 1.5gb. This is
a dual xeon 1.8ghz server (Dell Poweredge 4600). 100mbit to the terminals and
gig to the server. I figure with the above average usage I have plenty of room
to grow with this setup.

The primary layout is 3 terminals per classroom...but we have one classroom
with 6 laid out in a lab formation. We are currently in the process of moving
teacher desktops to terminals. We have finally selected the hp 5300 thinclient
from disklessworkstations.com for this (awesome).

I thought this info might prove useful to someone out there. Great work guys.
