It depends server vs client?  Cheap vs expensive.

Many PCs today ship with the Broadcom, 3com (Maxwell) or Intel 1000 but
the realtek is catching on.

For a server I might go with Intel or I can't believe I am say this
Broadcom as they are widely available.  Client side cheap realtek's are
going to be tough to beat.
