Either edit /etc/grub.conf and add it in there.
If you prefer, as a temporary measure (for testing) grub allows you to 
choose to add kernel parameters.when booting. That's the easy way to 
test it. It's pretty straightforward, once you know that it can be done.

I don't have a better reference right now than "It can be done, and grub 
is the place to do it."
