boot it to a Knoppix CD and do "dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb"

change the source drive from /dev/hda to whatever yours is, change the
dest drive to your new one. this is assuming your dest drive is as large
or larger as the source drive. don't have either of the drives mounted
during this.

this way, you're not depending on a system possibly running on a flaky
drive during the copy.
