[K12OSN] Something slowing me down...how can I measure?

Ok,

We've gone a couple weeks with K12LTSP 4.1 based on FC2. Very
stable...very configurable...etc.etc.....BUT...something is making things
slower. The only change I've made....and it's significant is that I'm now
on one network and not segregated into my regular network and my K12LTSP
network. I'm using another DHCP server instead of the DHCP on the K12LTSP
box. Now...everything is working well...things are pretty responsive, but
they don't seem as fast as 3.12. More than anything...programs like
Firefox take a while to load....almost a minute or more. It's a little
frustrating. (other programs like AbiWord seem to load with normal speed)
I'm using gigabit for my backbone with Amer.com SR24G2's all over. I
link from one switch to the other via gigabit. The servers all have
gigabit. Memory is not an issue....I never go into swap. My server is a
dual Xeon 2.x ghz with 4 gb RAM. I believe I'm using the 2.6 kernel. Any
suggestions on what to look for to tweak my speed a little more? Any way
that I can graphically measure the speed or traffic on my network and
whose causing the problems? The weird part is....K12LTSP is a little
sluggish, but Win 2003 server running from within K12LTSP (rdesktop) is
quite fast! (at all times). Any ideas?
