RE: [K12OSN] IceWM, Gnome & Nautilus FRUSTRATIONS


I have a idea that it is gconf that is your problem.  If a kid logs onto
one LTSP server (sharing the same /home as other LTSP servers), when
they log out gconf and some other programs stay active keeping lock
files in place.  Therefore, when the student logs into the next server,
GNOME and Nautilus, etc can't use gconf b/c of the lock file from the
renegade gconf process(s) on the other LTSP server.  What happens if a
kid logs on twice on the same LTSP server (different terminals). Is the
effect almost the same?  You might have to enable PURGE_PROCESSES for
