[K12OSN] smb/ldap printers

This might be a dumb question.... My xp machines when connected to the 
smb/ldap server can not connect to networked printers. But if logged 
into the machine locally as admin, I can. How do I get printers to work? 
I setup cups on the server to share out the printer and I still can not 
connect to it.
