[K12OSN] OT: hard drive emergency

Thanks. I'm looking into smartd right now.

Is it possible for a usb device like an iPod to screw up the partition table or the bios? I really suspect that the problem has to do w/ the iPod, but I can't understand why it would have the ability to do this kind of damage.
