[K12OSN] weirdness with sound

sorry for stating the obvious, but no one has replied to this.  Does 
that mean no one knows the answer?

I have sound on simple stuff, like tuxpaint/tuxtype/ etc  adn had sound 
earlier yesterday, before the updates
