[K12OSN] Flash Animation

We're going to be offering a digital animation class next year at our
high school, and as such, we'll be needing some animation software.
Does anyone know of a good, Open Source/Free animation software similar
to Macromedia Flash MX?  If it works for Linux and Windows, that's even
better.
