Do you mean to mount home remotely, say from home over the internet?
Not a bad idea if so, but most likely not feasable.  The teachers use
the laptops when no internet or network are available.

I am currently thinking a script on login/logoff that copies remote
account y to local account x and then runs the chown and chmod -R with
the correct permissions.  I know that you can set certain tasks to
execute on login, maybe I can setup a script that does this with all
commands preceeded with sudo?
