[K12OSN] OT: Bulk Image Resizing (from photo cds)

Hi

This is off topic but I figure someone here will know.
 We have film photos on a cd.  They are the standard
uncompressed jpeg formats that places like Walmart
produce.

They can't be directly inserted into Open Office (at
least our version) and they are huge.

Does anyone know of a tool that I can run at the
command line to reduce all the pictures in a directory
in resolution and file size?
