I think Redhat decided to disable PAE in RHEL5 by default because of
all the hardware PAE incompatibilities. But RHEL4 has it on by
default. I am running  2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp.

I remember when I was running RH9 only the bigmem kernel had PAE
support. I remember only 3.6GB being reported.
