[K12OSN] Sound and and Flash Sound EL5

I've just done an install with my students on their club computer using
K12EL5 64 bit.   I've been through the email archives with my kids tonight
but we can't get the flash sound woking on the terminals nor the xmms audio.

Anyone know the tricks for the EL5/Centos K12?
