True.  But that's one distro.  And if the Ubuntu support list is any
indication (Les Mikesell and I are both on there), then Hardy Heron is
giving some folks the blues with that.

You and I know how to do that.  But most people aren't as technical as
we are.

Or if you just want things to work out of the box w/ no fuss.  :-) 
Right now, Intel does that.  You're right, it ain't the Ferrari...it's
the Honda Accord.  Remember that we're talking about a *student* laptop
here, not a gaming machine.
