A 20" iMac is a great machine, but I don't think it's practical for a  
school to administer a whole fleet expensive (to buy and administer)  
and powerful machines when 90% of the time they don't need that kind  
of power. When schools try to standardize on that kind of high-end  
technology, they either waste a lot of money that would be better  
spent elsewhere, can't afford enough useable computers to go around,  
or they have to cut back in other areas in order to maintain the  
extravagant level of technology spending.
