Hello All,
For those interested in weighing in on the future of Javascript Unit
Testing in Katello.
There has been a lot of discussion lately about creating a more robust
Javascript unit testing framework to work within for developers to
ensure code correctness and to prevent regressions. Our current setup,
while good lacks for making it easier on developers and providing
re-usability. I have 'scoured' the Rails - QUnit - Javascript Unit
testing landscape and attempted to examine the various projects
available. If you feel one was missed please add to the Wiki or point
it out to me and I will add it to the discussion. The findings from my
research can be found here -
https://fedorahosted.org/katello/wiki/JavascriptUnitTestChoice.
This is my personal assessment of our needs and evaluation of each
project so feel free to question, contradict or add constructive
criticism via discussion. There are multiple approaches to Javascript
Unit Testing from the developer side and we should decide on what works
best for developer and QA workflow for Katello.
Thanks,
Eric D. Helms
