Good call - somehow when looking for that in the documentation I missed it.

Asset pipeline is incompatible with Rails 3.0, so until we switch to 3.2
fully we can't switch to asset pipeline.  Asset pipeline will also require
more than just the Rails packages, all of which appear to be available in
F18 but some might need to be packaged for RHEL.
