Yes, QEMU has this to say

  "What you should never do:

    * use non-ASCII filenames ;
    * use "-snapshot" together with ":rw:" ;
    * expect it to work when loadvm'ing ;
    * write to the FAT directory on the host system while 
      accessing it with the guest system. "
